Job Description

The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General, Litigation Division an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer is seeking applicants for an “At Will” (not classified) Paralegal/Legal Assistant II position located in Santa Fe, NM.  An “At Will” position means any state office job or position of employment which is exempt from the service and the Personnel Act Section 10- 9-4 NNMSA 1978, the employee serves at the pleasure of the New Mexico Attorney General.

Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of litigation support experience, including performing confidential legal research, properly formatting and filing legal documents, drafting various documents and reports for review by an attorney, and assisting attorneys with hearings and trial preparation.  It is preferred that the applicant have a Paralegal Certificate.  In addition, applicant must have experience with file maintenance, document management, and the ability to create/maintain computerized data. Applicant must possess demonstrable experience in civil litigation, have knowledge of federal and state civil procedure, and have experience filing in state and federal courts.  The job requires excellent research, writing, computer and communication skills.
